To gain an in-depth understanding of the current applications and development trends of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the field of polymer research and development (R&D), and to explore its potential to boost the R&D efforts of Fine-Blend, a learning meeting themed "Two Case Studies of AI-assisted Polymer R&D" was held in the conference room of Building No. 1 on September 4, 2025. All members of the company's R&D department and some sales staff attended the meeting.         
During the meeting, Professor Xie Wei from Shanghai University provided a detailed introduction to the traditional polymer R&D paradigm - the trial-and-error method. Through specific case studies, he highlighted the limitations of this method, such as its time-consuming nature, high costs, and low efficiency. Subsequently, he delved into the modern R&D paradigm - AI-assisted research. He explained how AI technology, through big data analysis and machine learning, can rapidly screen for potential polymer formulations and process parameters. This effectively overcomes the bottlenecks of traditional R&D methods, achieving intelligent and efficient R&D. The presentation of two specific case studies allowed the participants to clearly see the immense potential and practical value of AI technology in polymer R&D.  
The successful holding of this meeting has provided important ideas and directions for the company's future integration of AI and polymer R&D, with far-reaching strategic significance. The company hopes that through this learning experience, it can determine whether it is suitable to connect to an AI big data system to enhance R&D efficiency and innovation capabilities, thereby laying a solid technical foundation for the company's long-term development.
